Hi, I'm Craig,

 

I would love to take your photographs!  I have been a photographer my whole life but I became serious about it in 1988.  That is the year my own Dad died and we realized how few pictures we had of him.  It became my passion to take pictures of everyone I love.  

 

I studied Professional Photography at Focal Point School of Imaging here in Vancouver.  I studied with World Class photographers like James Emler, Alex Waterhouse-Hayward, Kaj Svensson, David Ellingsen, Ian MacGuffie and others.  I graduated with a degree in Photography.  I started as a Landscape Photographer looking to improve my skillset. 

 

Along the way I fell in love with doing Portrait work.  I realized that there was a lot more to a picture than just pointing a camera at someone and pushing a button.

 

There was the mysterious skill of using natural and artificial light to shape and caress a person to bring out the best in them for their image.  That getting to know someone and really connecting to them was key to creating a great portrait.  Getting the person into the creative process was just as necessary as clicking the shutter.
